Instructions
-
Mixing Your Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
-
Browning Your Butter
Place your butter in a pan set over medium heat. Toast your butter while stirring constantly. Once your butter is a golden brown color with a nutty aroma, it is done.
-
Mixing Your Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add the egg, egg yolk and vanilla and whisk until well combined.
-
Making Your Dough
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix with a spatula. Your dough should be smooth and evenly incorporated with no lumps. Add the chocolate chips and mix until they are evenly distributed. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
-
Baking Your Cookies
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Roll cookie dough into balls and place on to a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 6 minutes, remove from oven and lightly smash with spatula. Then bake for an additional 4 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown but the tops are still pale.
-
Cooling
Let cool on the baking sheets for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
